Dule Temple, also known as the Temple of Solitary Joy, is an ancient Buddhist temple located in Jixian County, Tianjin. Built during the Tang Dynasty in 636 AD, it is one of the oldest surviving wooden structures in China. The temple complex features magnificent architecture that showcases the pinnacle of Tang Dynasty craftsmanship, with the main hall housing a 16-meter-tall clay statue of Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy. This UNESCO World Heritage Site candidate represents a perfect fusion of Buddhist art, Chinese architecture, and cultural heritage spanning over 1,300 years.
