Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum Park is one of the most significant archaeological discoveries of the 20th century and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This vast burial complex was constructed over 38 years by 700,000 workers for Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor who unified China in 221 BCE. The site covers approximately 56 square kilometers and represents the culmination of ancient Chinese burial practices and imperial power. While the main tomb mound remains unexcavated to preserve its contents, the surrounding pits have revealed thousands of life-sized terracotta warriors, horses, chariots, and weapons, each with unique facial features and expressions. The complex was designed as a microcosm of the emperor's empire, complete with palaces, stables, and administrative offices, reflecting the belief in an afterlife that mirrored the earthly realm.
