About Chenshan Botanical Garden
Chenshan Botanical Garden opened in 2010 and covers about 207 hectares in the foothills of Sheshan. Its centerpiece is a trio of huge glasshouse domes housing tropical, desert, and alpine plant collections. The former quarry has been transformed into a sunken garden with waterfalls, while seasonal flower festivals draw large crowds. The garden is about an hour from central Shanghai by metro and bus.
