About Rockbund
Rockbund, or the 'Bund Origin', is the stretch of the Bund that began as the Shanghai British Concession in the 1840s. Its restored 19th-century warehouses, consulates, and clubs line Yuanmingyuan Road and the riverfront. The former British Consulate gardens and the Peninsula Hotel anchor the district, while galleries and cafes occupy the old buildings. It offers a quieter, more intimate take on Bund architecture.
