About Waibaidu Bridge
Waibaidu Bridge, completed in 1908, is Shanghai's oldest steel bridge and a symbol of the city's early modernity. Its 52-meter span crosses Suzhou Creek where it meets the Huangpu River, linking the Bund with the North Bund. The gray steel trusses have appeared in countless films and wedding photos. A short walk across the bridge offers views of the Bund's historic buildings and the modern skyline beyond.
