About Wukang Road
Wukang Road runs through the heart of the former French Concession and is famous for its leafy plane trees and preserved 1930s architecture. The tapering Wukang Mansion is the street's most photographed building, while dozens of heritage villas line the way. The road was home to artists, writers, and politicians, including actress Hu Die and playwright Xiao Hong. Cafes and boutiques now occupy many of the old houses.
