Haihe River

The Haihe River, often called Tianjins Mother River, is the largest river system in northern China and the lifeline of Tianjin. Stretching over 1,050 kilometers, it flows through the heart of the city, connecting five major tributaries and emptying into the Bohai Sea. This historic waterway has been central to Tianjins development as a major port city and trading hub since ancient times.
