Cangyan Mountain also known as Cangyan Mountain Scenic Area is a magnificent Buddhist mountain complex located about 50 kilometers southwest of Shijiazhuang in Hebei Province. This sacred site dates back over 1400 years to the Sui Dynasty and is renowned for its spectacular cliffside temples that seem to defy gravity as they cling to the steep mountain faces. The name Cangyan means Green Cliff referring to the lush vegetation covering the mountain slopes. The most famous structure is the Bridge Tower Temple a remarkable architectural feat built across a natural stone bridge spanning a deep gorge.
