Xibaipo Revolutionary Site is one of the most significant historical landmarks in modern Chinese history. Located in Pingshan County about 90 kilometers northwest of Shijiazhuang, this was the last rural command center of the Communist Party of China before they entered Beijing. From May 1948 to March 1949, Chairman Mao Zedong and other top leaders lived and worked here, directing the decisive battles of the Chinese Civil War and preparing for the establishment of the Peoples Republic of China. The site preserves the original living quarters, meeting rooms, and military command centers where historic decisions were made. Visitors can walk through the same courtyards where revolutionary leaders planned the future of China, experiencing the humble conditions that contrasted with the monumental events unfolding. The site represents the transition from rural revolutionary base to national governance, embodying the spirit of perseverance and strategic vision that shaped modern China.
